Pray For and Help Ukraine
We continually pray for Ukraine – that God will deliver them from their enemies and stop the Russian invasion and the violence.
There are many ministries and organizations that are involved in bringing aid to the people of Ukraine. We certainly want to donate to those that are involved there directly so that our dollars will be most effective.
MinistryWatch is a website that provides a Donor Confidence Score, a Financial Efficiency Rating, and a Transparency Grade to help assess which ministries are well-run and those that are not. They do include an assessment of some ministries that are raising funds for Ukrainian relief.
Below are some recommendations that Pastor John and Session have made for where to donate:
- Samaritan’s Purse
- The Evangelical Presbyterian Church
- Slavic Gospel Association
- Mission Eurasia
- World Vision
- Josiah Venture
- Gospel to Eastern Ukraine
- Medical Teams International
There are so many others, but these are a few that have been recommended to me.
The need is great and the need will be there for a long time. I encourage you to help in ways you can!
Warmly in Christ,
Pastor John
Samaritan’s Purse
Samaritan’s Purse International Relief is providing ministry there as well. They specialize in meeting critical needs for victims of conflict, disaster, famine, and epidemics throughout the world, often working through ministry partners on the ground. They provide food, water, shelter, medicine, and other assistance in the Name of Jesus Christ.
The Evangelical Presbyterian Church
The Evangelical Presbyterian Church has set up a special fund to channel donations to ministries working directly in Ukraine.
Donations to the fund will be forwarded to international ministry partners, EPC World Outreach workers “on the ground” in affected areas, or to appropriate other agencies and organizations at the discretion of EPC leadership.
Slavic Gospel Association
From their beginnings in 1934 through today, SGA has been working with churches in Russia, the former Soviet countries of Eastern Europe, and Central Asia to share the gospel, help train leaders for the church, and to help the hurting and forgotten in the name of Jesus.
Mission Eurasia
Mission Eurasia trains, equips and mobilizes national Christian leaders throughout Eurasia and Israel who are engaging in evangelism, church-planting, holistic ministries, and church growth to transform their countries for Christ.
World Vision
Our presence in nearly 100 countries enables us to quickly provide immediate support in all types of disasters and humanitarian crises—and we are committed to long-term support, staying to help children, families, and communities recover and rebuild.
Josiah Venture
Another ministry working directly in Ukraine that David Douglass has connections with is Josiah Venture.
The mission of Josiah Venture is to equip young leaders in Central and Eastern Europe to fulfill Christ’s commission through the local church.
Their vision is to see passionate followers of Jesus Christ, with a vision to reach and disciple their generation for Him. They have been involved in a disciple-making movement in Ukraine since before 2007.
Gospel to Eastern Ukraine
Another recommendation from a colleague is Gospel to Eastern Ukraine. Their vision is to spread the Gospel and help people grow in their knowledge and love of God. Their vision is to do this in Kharkiv and beyond. There are National Ukrainian Christians at work spreading the Gospel throughout Ukraine.
Medical Teams International
Delivering life-saving medical care to people in crisis, the staff and volunteers of Medical Teams International work in places of turmoil, disease, and natural disaster – to save lives and leave communities healthier.
